Training Schedules are finally here


Our Training Gurus -


Our 0-5k plan was put together by Niki Lall.  Darren Wood did the 5k-10k plan which includes a parkrun every Saturday.  Our 45-60min 10k plan and our sub 45 min plan is courtesy of Ged Ruffle.  These are all local runners and supporters of our race and our thanks go to them for taking the time to help us out with these plans. We hope you find something in here that helps.


Our 0-5k training plan was drawn up by Niki Lall for those new to running and hoping to enter our 5k fun run. Niki is a qualified leader for the  Run England group.  Run England is the official England Athletics recreational running project which aims to get the whole nation running regardless of age, fitness level, aspiration, background, or location. You can be a part of Run England and benefit from being a part of England's running community. We are here to help and encourage more people to run, and to run more often.


For those hoping to enter our 10k and are new to the distance we have a 5-10k plan from Darren Wood. Darren was reluctant to put this plan together insisting that he wasn’t a coach and didn’t feel qualified.  We wanted a training plan that included a weekly parkrun as part of it and really couldn’t think of anyone better than Darren to do this.  For those that don’t know Darren has completed more parkruns than anyone else, in the world.  He’s also a pretty nifty runner!


Ged Ruffle of GR8Running is a Fleet based UKA running coach with an enthusiastic and motivational style who has a real passion in developing runners of all abilities to achieve their full potential. GR8Running provides coaching to small groups or on a 1:1 basis for new runners to provide initial help and guidance through to more experienced runners looking to achieve that PB. Ged has experience in working with both adults and juniors at all levels.
